An Evocation of the Calanques

In Marseille, living in the blue of the Mediterranean obviously means the blue of the sky, but also the blue of the District Headquarters stunningly designed by Will Alsop. Its powerful blue extends to the perimetre of a new area developed by Ametis and Ideom, a neighbourhood of mixed housing, as much social and student as upmarket and adventurous... Behind the blue wall, its residences are protected from road noise and create rocky outcrops overrun by pinetrees and cactuses, an evocation of Marseille’s famous rocky inlets, the calanques.
